Richard came to America in 1980. He played soccer professionally for 19 years - 15 in Poland and 4 years in the USA for MISL teams (Hartford Hellions and Memphis Americans). His career started on the Polish Junior National Team in 1963 and continued throughout Division III, II, and I for 12 years in Poland. He was on the Region III ODP staff from 1986-2000. Richard started the Christian Brothers University, formerly Christian Brothers College, soccer program in 1985 and coached the Bucs until 1997. In those years, the Bucs won the District 24 Championship twice, TCAC Conference Championship three times, and the team was ranked in the Top 20 NAIA for two years. He was named Tennessee Coach of the Year twice, District 24 Coach of the Year twice and Conference Coach of the Year twice. Since 1982, Richard has been involved with youth soccer in the Memphis area and presently directs the very successful youth soccer program - Memphis Futbol Club. He was the TN State Youth Coach of the year in 1986 and 1988. His family includes his wife, Viola and sons Maciej and Marek.
